Cór Fhéile na Scol

The School Choir sang very successfully at Cór Fhéile na Scol in City Hall on Monday night April 18th. The boys, selected from fourth, fifth and sixth classes were conducted by Mr. O Callaghan and accompanied by Ms. Spillane on the piano.

Four songs were sung: Donna Donna (an Israeli Folk Song), Moses’ Promise from the musical Holy Moses, and two traditional songs Ailiú Éanaí and Lord of the Dance. The choir was also accompanied by two sixth class pupils, Nathan Kruschke and David Tobin who played glockenspiels.

Indeed the boys looked very well in their school blazers and many complements were paid to the choir for its overall presence as well as performance. Mr. Cuthbert and recently retired Mrs. Cotter also came along to support the boys on the night.

Mr. Cuthbert was very pleased that the tradition of performing at the Cór Fheile has been revived after the absence of recent years. Mr.O Callaghan has put many items on the stage and said that this choir was one of his best. It was Ms. Spillane’s first time as accompanist at the Cór Fheile and she was very pleased with the boys’ singing.

We hope to continue this tradition of singing at the Cór Fhéile long into the future.
